Lawrence Till is retired from Detroit Public Schools, where he served as a teacher, department head, counselor, and administrator. His love of dogs began in childhood, and he has served as the President of more than one dog club throughout the years. He also used to handle dogs professionally, and he--along with his wife, Pat--also photographed dog shows for some time. Shortly before Tricia entered school, Larry decided to retire from showing professionally so that his daughter could have a more "normal" existence. While Larry is currently unable to actively participate in dog shows much anymore, his teachings will continue to lead his daughter throughout her life.
Tricia Till didn't really want to imagine a life without dog shows! When she was about 7 or 8 years old, she started asking her parents to return to the shows. She showed Malamutes successfully in both conformation and Junior Showmanship beginning at the age of 10, and she has shown dogs in every group since that time. While many people in the hound community know her as the "Beagle girl," the Alaskan Malamute folks know her as "Larry's daughter!" Tricia has also served as an officer of numerous dog clubs, and she currently serves as a member of the Breeder Education Committee of the AMCA. She is an AKC-licensed Junior Showmanship judge, which combines her profession--teaching--with her love of dogs! Furthermore, she is licensed to judge UKC conformation and junior showmanship, and she loves helping the dog community in this way!
